Yesterday Friday 25th July was my last shift at Compton Verney my last paid lesson. After 4 years and 5 months. I had a family of Germans in the studio doing clay. the youngest boy of the group gave me a high five followed by a cuddle that was nice.

Comfort Eagle

Cake

We are building a religion
We are building it bigger
We are widening the corridors
And adding more lanes

We are building a religion
A limited edition
We are now accepting callers
for these pendant key chains

To resist it is useless
It is useless to resist it
His cigarette is burning
But he never seems to ash

He is grooming his poodle
He is living comfort eagle
You can meet at his location
But you better come with cash

5

Now his hat is on backwards
He can show you his tattoos
He is in the music business
He is calling you “DUDE!”

Now today is tomorrow
And tomorrow today
And yesterday is weaving in and out

And the fluffy white lines
That the airplane leaves behind
Are drifting right in front
of the waining of the moon

He is handling the money
He’s serving the food
He knows about your party
He is calling you “DUDE!”

Now do you believe
In the one big sign
The doublewide shine
On the bootheels of your prime

Doesn’t matter if you’re skinny
Doesn’t matter if you’re fat
You can dress up like a sultan
In your onion head hat

We are building a religion
We are making a brand
We’re the only ones to turn to
When your castles turn to sand

Take a bite of this apple
Mr. corporate events
Take a walk through the jungle
Of cardboard shanties and tents

Some people drink Pepsi
Some people drink Coke
The wacky morning DJ
Says democracy’s a joke

He says now do you believe
In the one big song
He’s now accepting callers
Who would like to sing along

She says, do you believe
In the one true edge
By fastening your safety belts
And stepping towards the ledge

He is handling the money
He is serving the food
He is now accepting callers
He is calling me “DUDE!”

Now do you believe
In the one big sign
The doublewide shine
On the bootheels of your prime

There’s no need to ask directions
If you ever lose your mind
We’re behind you
We’re behind you
And let us please remind you
We can send a car to find you
If you ever lose your way

We are building a religion

We are building it bigger

We are building

A religion

A limited

Edition

We are now accepting callers…
For these beautiful…
Pendant key chains

The Lunatics

The Specials

I see a clinic full of cynics
Who want to twist the peoples’ wrist
They’re watching every move we make
We’re all included on the list

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

No nuclear the cowboy told us
And who am I to disagree
‘Cause when the madman flips the switch
The nuclear will go for me

The lunatics have taken over the asylum
The lunatics have taken over the asylum

I’ve seen the faces of starvation
But I just can not see the points
‘Cause there’s so much food here today
That no one wants to take away

The lunatics have taken over the asylum

20190720_120553Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, lunar module pilot, stands on the surface of the moon.

Humans landed on the moon 50 years ago—at 4:17 p.m., American Eastern Daylight Time, July 20, 1969—Neil Armstrong and Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin became the first men to land on the Moon. A television audience estimated at 650 million people watched as the two Apollo astronauts climbed out of the Lunar Module and became the first human beings to set foot on another body in our solar system.

Four days later, Armstrong, Aldrin and Michael Collins completed their mission with a successful splash landing in the Pacific Ocean, returning home safely from their 240,000-mile (387,000 kilometer) journey to Earth’s nearest neighbor.

I was watching the BBC. I was 17 years of age my father was 49 years of age. We watched together up until another delay of the of the walk and then at 03.10 am my father said I am off to bed. I said DAD! Men are going to walk on the moon. I will watch it in the morning! I stayed alone and watched the all but viable grainy images.

James Burke, Patrick Moore and Cliff Michelmore were trying their best to keep things going without any pictures from the Moon. Finally at around 3:45am Burke began to hear definite signs that the astronauts were about to open the door and swing the camera out to show Neil Armstrong step on to the Moon.

The image of the Moon surface was at first upside down. And when it did right itself it was dark and grainy. Many of the shots we see today have been digitally enhanced to give us a rather better image than viewers saw in 1969.

The Stars with Brian Cox

I kind of know what stars are
I have seen the endless Brian Cox programmes
Fascinating indeed
I have looked up at the stars often
I have seen the Milky Way top to bottom
I know of the fate the scientists have predicted for us
I know some of the fables
I know some of the stars names
I know some of the astrological names
But I would rather just look up and wonder
Gaze up on a deep dark night and be overawed
Of course I have asked questions who hasn’t?
But I feel it’s just so much nicer to embrace it
To not know it all
Ignorance is bliss sometimes
Look at it all with the eyes of a child
It’s just so beautiful to share it with yourself
Stand outside look up feel small its OK
Just accept it
