Future Blues

Canned Heat

Who’ll tell your future, I can’t tell my past,
Who’ll tell your future, I can’t tell my past,
Seem like every minute lord is sure gonna be my last,
Gonna who do ya baby, got you on my mind,
Who do ya baby, got you on my mind,
Wait a few months darlin’ it will drive you right outta your mind,
‘Cause your a crazy little mama and you know you can’t be beat,
I got somethin’ for ya baby that is awful sweet,
Come on little mama gonna knock ya right off your feet.
See that picture baby hangin’ up on your mama’s shelf,
See that picture baby hangin’ up on your mama’s shelf,
I’m gettin’ tired, tired, tired lord of sleepin’ all by myself,
Who’ll tell your future, I can’t tell my past,
Who’ll tell your future, I can’t tell my past,
Seem like every minute lord is sure gonna be my last,
Tho the past was sour lord the future can be mighty sweet,
We finally found a home and our love just can’t be beat,
You know it’s forever and I’m never never gonna leave

Sugar Bee

Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Look what you done to me
When I told you, baby, on the day we wed
I told you, darling, don’t you lose your head
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Look what you done to me – alright
When I told you, babe, I’m gonna love you long
I’ll never, never, never gonna do you wrong
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Sugar Bee – Sugar Bee
Look what you done to me

Who’ll Stop the Rain

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Long as I remember
The rain been comin’ down
Clouds of mystery pourin’
Confusion on the ground
Good men through the ages
Tryin’ to find the sun
And I wonder
Still, I wonder
Who’ll stop the rain

I went down Virginia
Seekin’ shelter from the storm
Caught up in the fable
I watched the tower grow
Five-year plans and new deals
Wrapped in golden chains
And I wonder
Still, I wonder
Who’ll stop the rain

Heard the singers playin’
How we cheered for more
The crowd had rushed together
Tryin’ to keep warm
Still, the rain kept pourin’
Fallin’ on my ears
And I wonder
Still I wonder
Who’ll stop the rain

It Came Out Of The Sky

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Oh, it came out of the sky, landed just a little south of Moline
Jody fell out of his tractor, couldn’t b’lieve what he seen
Laid on the ground and shook, fearin’ for his life
Then he ran all the way to town screamin’ “It came out of the sky.”
Well, a crowd gathered ’round and a scientist said it was marsh gas
Spiro came and made a speech about raising the Mars tax
The Vatican said, “Woe, the Lord has come”
Hollywood rushed out an epic film
And Ronnie the Popular said it was a communist plot

Oh, the newspapers came and made Jody a national hero
Walter and Eric said they’d put him on a network T.V. show
The White House said, “Put the thing in the Blue Room”
The Vatican said, “No, it belongs to Rome.”
And Jody said, “It’s mine and you can have it for seventeen million.”

Oh, it came out of the sky, landed just a little south of Moline
Jody fell out of his tractor, couldn’t b’lieve what he seen
Laid on the ground a shakin’, fearin’ for his life
Then he ran all the way to town screamin’ “It came out of the sky.”

1976 I had Tales of Mystery and Imagination and have had it in all media Vinyl/Cassette/CD/ MP3. One of my top 2

I have many top 2 albums.

Super performed’ super concepts. I love all the earlier Alan Parsons, I Robot 1977 and Eye in the Sky 1982.

To One In Paradise

The Alan Parsons Project

IF I could see the sky above
And my mind could be set free
As wild white horses reached the shore
I’d stand alone and oversee

And if the bush before me burns
Should I turn my eyes away
And still the voices I can hear
As clear to me as light of day

I believed in my dreams
Nothing could change my mind
Now I know what they mean
How could I be so blind

Cold sands of time
(Winds that blow as cold as ice
Sounds that come in the night)
Shall hide what is left on me
(Come from Paradise)

I’ve been through times when no one cared
(Words that were mine)
I’ve seen clouds in empty skies
When one kind word meant more to me
(Shall last as a memory)
Than all the love in Paradise

I believed in my dreams
Nothing could change my mind
Till I found what they mean
Nothing can save me now

Don’t Let It Show

If it’s getting harder to face every day
Don’t let it show, don’t let it show
Though it’s getting harder to take what they say
Just let it go, just let it go

And if it hurts when they mention my name
Say you don’t know me
And if it helps when they say I’m to blame
Say you don’t own me

Even if it’s taking the easy way out
Keep it inside of you
Don’t give in
Don’t tell them anything
Don’t let it
Don’t let it show

Even though you know it’s the wrong thing to say
Say you don’t care, say you don’t care
Even if you want to believe there’s a way
I won’t be there…I won’t be there

But if you smile when they mention my name
They’ll never know you
And if you laugh when they say I’m to blame
They’ll never own you

Even if you feel you’ve got nothing to hide
Keep it inside of you
Don’t give in
Don’t tell them anything
Don’t let it
Don’t let it show

Old And Wise

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows approaching me
And to those I left behind
I wanted you to know
You’ve always shared my deepest thoughts
You follow where I go

And oh when I’m old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I’d smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh when I’m old and wise

As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows surrounding me
And to those I leave behind
I want you all to know
You’ve always shared my darkest hours
I’ll miss you when I go

And oh, when I’m old and wise
Heavy words that tossed and blew me
Like autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
As the final curtain falls before my eyes
Oh when I’m old and wise

As far as my eyes can see

The people’s flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead,
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts’ blood dyed its ev’ry fold.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we’ll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.

Men of England, heirs of Glory,
Heroes of unwritten story,
Nurslings of one mighty Mother,
Hopes of her, and one another!

What is Freedom? Ye can tell
That which Slavery is too well,
For its very name has grown
To an echo of your own

Let a vast assembly be,
And with great solemnity
Declare with measured words, that ye
Are, as God has made ye, free.

The old laws of England—they
Whose reverend heads with age are grey,
Children of a wiser day;
And whose solemn voice must be
Thine own echo—Liberty!

Rise, like lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth, like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
Ye are many—they are few!

Another of my top 10/100. Sinking Ships was what made me buy this album. Although Sinking Ships was not on this album I already had the single.

First of May

Bee Gees

When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall
We used to love while others used to play
Don’t ask me why, but time has passed us by
Some one else moved in from far away
Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small
And you don’t ask the time of day
But you and I, our love will never die
But guess we’ll cry come first of May
The apple tree that grew for you and me
I watched the apples falling one by one
And I recall the moment of them all
The day I kissed your cheek and you were mine
Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small
And you don’t ask the time of day
But you and I, our love will never die
But guess we’ll cry come first of May
When I was small, and Christmas trees were tall
Do do do do do do do do do
Don’t ask me why, but time has passed us by
Some one else moved in from far away

Sinking Ships

Sinking ships
Watching them sail and the sun as sinks in the sea
Crashing planes
Only the eyes of the doomed with a smile on their face

So I say to myself Is it real?
So I look inside myself
Can I feel?

Coloured cups
Windows that slide up and down with a squeak in the side
Funny day
Banging the door to a close as it’s hurting my knee
